This journal documents the ups and downs of a fictional football (soccer) manager using the super popular game, Football Manager.

You'll laugh as you see Jack Belmondo, American expat, encountering all of the usual struggles faced by players of the game around the world. Will his players respect him? Will big clubs poach his stars? Can he get his tactics to work properly? And when will anyone acknowledge his genius?

"Easily the best story for FM I've read." - Cleon Hobson, legend of the Football Manager community.

The Belmondo Diary Year One A Football Manager Journey edition by Matt Langdon Humor Entertainment eBooks Reviews

Clever writing. Dry humor. Revolutionary tactics. Belmondo is not only an inspirational tale of the oldest Dutch city's club but also the story of the early years of the Netherlands next giant, NEC. Why haven't you read it yet?
Amazing read, witty and action packed, a good insight to one of Football's greatest assets. Can't forget about those trousers!
Having spent the best part of 25 years playing both Football Manager and Championship Manager in many versions, my interest was piqued when I read what this book was about.
Anyone that has played any of these games on a computer will understand how the players "come to life", the tactics become "yours", or you get angry or excited at the "press conference" comments.
Who hasn't yelled at the computer when players don't do exactly as commanded? Who hasn't become frustrated when you lose to the bottom club the week after beating the one on top?
If you have done any of this, then this book is for you. Matt brings comic genius to this book based on the days in the season of a football manager team. I don't think there was a single page where I didn't smile at something, thinking "that's me" or "that's my team". I can honestly say, I loved this book from cover to cover. I recommend it to anyone that has ever played one of these great games. Those that have spent countless hours trying to "beat the game" will relate to every word written. I thoroughly recommend the book. Good work Matt, now where is Season 2 as I need to find out what Thor, Roman, van Eijden and the rest of the Nijmegen crew get up this season.
Absolutely loved this take on a Football Manager season. Sharp and witty, can't wait for the next season!
